Leaders make Mistakes

Screen Shot 2015-05-25 at 8.41.35 PMYes, unfortunately they do … Accept it and ask yourself ‘Have I never made a mistake?’ We all make mistakes; the difference is – can we learn from our mistakes and will we grow because of these mistakes?

How can we grow? What does it take?

If we continue to make the same mistake, it’s not a mistake but rather a habit. These habits are formed when we are too proud to admit we are making mistakes. The key is to admit we made a mistake, learn from the mistake, and grow. Yes, it takes vulnerability because we have to admit to someone else we were wrong, we cannot do that for ourselves. True leaders are ultimately accountable to people, not themselves.

  1. Bang on. I own my mistakes. At one time in my life I made excuses and didn’t grow as a person. Great post.
