The Decision

Screen Shot 2015-08-06 at 7.49.00 AMThere are specific decisions we all need to make at some stage in our life. You may think you don’t ‘have to’ make decisions, but even by making no decision, you are actually making a decision. When you say NO to one thing, you are always saying YES to another thing. In life there are no neutral standpoints or vacuums, nature will always balance itself. Therefore, whether you are prepared to make a decision or not, a decision will always be made. I realise that is not fair, but that is simply how the game of life works.

Let’s look at the process of a decision – our friends may have suggested we start gym with them. We don’t particularly like gym, so we decide we won’t join them. What is the real decision we have just made? By saying NO, we may have said YES to being lazy and unhealthy, and give up the potential for a great life – but if we rather agreed to go with them, our decision is to live a good life and make the most of ourselves.

Success does not come without work and luck has nothing to do with it. It is simply a decision to do more work than others. If we notice that other people who are unsuccessful are working eight hours a day, then perhaps working ten hours a day may be what is necessary to be successful.

We need to explore different options however, just working is often no guarantee of success. What are you doing differently to others? It is your future after all, but I must warn you that if something sounds too easy, and does not involve a good deal of work it’s probably too good to be true.

The Decision that you need to make in order to be successful is “I will say YES to work and NO to being lazy” – that thought process will change your life and keep you moving in the direction of your dreams.

Always ask yourself in any situation ‘if I am saying YES to one thing what am I saying NO to, and if I say NO what have I just said NO to? Thinking about what we think about, when we think, will ultimately set us on a path to our dreams or take us further away from our dreams.
