The world is in turmoil, perhaps more than ever before and perhaps not. It could be that what disrupted us ten years ago is now just the status quo we find ourselves in today. We have also possibly learnt to be oblivious to things happening around us that we cannot change, we simply live our lives and make the best of all that comes our way.
Or do we PANIC?
If we think we are being affected by the pending financial crisis and how it could affect our personal finances we may be inclined to panic. It could be an outbreak of a war and we wonder if it will affect us – yes some only wonder and others panic. Some strange virus is detected and people are dying, we may be inclined to panic.
However we always need to ask ourselves – ‘why panic?’ Will it help and will our panic add to the solution or simply make matters worse for ourselves and those that come into contact with our negativity?
Instead we should think rationally and consider if there is anything we can do in the situation, if the situation is beyond our control and we cannot assist or change what is happening, don’t worry and most of all don’t panic.
Not panicking and staying calm is the best gift we can give ourselves and others. After all EQ is all about being kind too ourselves so that ultimately we may be kind to others. Have a great day.
“Not panicking and staying calm is the best gift we can give ourselves and others.”
This is so true. We aren’t helping anyone by panicking.
