Several years ago my former boss, who was also the president of our company, and I were having a conversation in his office regarding a certain business journal that we both liked to read. He commented that he really liked the articles as well, but thought they were very heavy in theory and somewhat deficient in the real-world component. He was right. Some of the ideas and concepts sounded great, but attempting to execute them within our current market was a bit challenging.
The real world equals heavy lifting. It presents tremendous opportunity and excitement, but there is no such thing as easy money or easy success. It requires a lot of late nights and early mornings; it requires a lot of hard work and, most importantly, it requires a ton of patience, sacrifice and responsibility. If heavy lifting were easy, everybody would do it.
